HOW IT WAS MADE
Below are the steps I took to make Echo
Paper Maps and Mechanics
Before working on Echo, I drew up Paper maps, puzzles, and ideas for mechanics.
Sandbox
I then created a small Sandbox to test the main mechanics of Echo: defeating enemies to pick up core parts to replace Echo's arm and/or legs to customize their attack and movement.
Along with the sandbox, I created basic models for Echo, the Enemies, and the core parts as well as basic UI for the levels and menus.
Level 1 and Level 2 Progress
Worked on Level Design for Level 1 and Level 2. Created the mechanics for puzzles and basic models. Created simple AI for enemies and different scripts for the levels.
Level 2, Level 3, and Credits Progress
This video shows the progress I made with Level 2, Level 3, and the addition of credits. At this point, I had most of Echo finished and was starting to polish and implement extra VFX and details.
Implemented new Models, Animations, and Effects
This is a short video introducing the new Models, Animations, and Effects I implemented into the project.
The Beta Build
This video shows the Beta Build of Echo, where the project is at a near completed state and was completely playable from beginning to end. All that was left was some minor polishing, adding some decorations, and having the project at the state it is in now.
